Unplanned as it was, this newsletter has naturally turned into a weekly journal of my photography exploits—a development I'm quite pleased with. While I also dedicate time to longer-term, larger projects, this space offers a unique opportunity to share what I’m seeing/shooting each week.
Because there is no plan to “create content,” I’m never really sure if I will have anything to post. Sometimes, I have a hard time whittling it down to a manageable number of shots, and other times I feel like I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel. Either way, it feels great to close the book on the previous week, take stock in my creative output, and look forward to what might be around the corner.
I often write these posts on Friday nights and post them Saturday mornings, much like I'm doing now. Tonight, the house is uncharacteristically quiet. I just wrapped up a few Polaroid emulsion lifts that I am quite happy with (I’ll share later), and am listening to some of my favorite Nick Cave songs as I write this. I’m feeling particularly grateful for being able to pursue my passions, for having an amazing supportive partner that cheers me on, and for having a great group of creative friends that continually inspire me. What else could someone ask for? Sometimes it just hits you, and tonight is one of those nights. Thanks for checking in!
Love the monument shot Dan.
