Polaroid Burn
A while back I bought a Polaroid Now+ camera, shot a pack of film, and then it sat on my shelf for months. I was frustrated because I tried to shoot the type of landscape photos I capture with my digital photo gear and of course, did not see the same results. The camera was a novelty to me and I didn't have any ideas of how to create something interesting with it.
Years before, I had seen an article about a photographer who used gas and fire to manipulate his Polaroid images. After a google search, I didn't find that many people were attempting this technique, but decided to give it a try anyway. I had a free weekend and decided to load a pack of film and go and shoot around town and then light the resulting photos on fire and see what would happen. After some experimentation with WD-40 and some gasoline, I was having a lot of fun and was finding myself quite happy with the results. This experiment led me down a rabbit hole of Polaroid experimentation.
