Experimenting at the Jacksonville Airport Hotel
I never would have shot these photos a year ago.
Recently we were out of town for a commercial shoot and I had a little spare time on our final day. We had turned in our rental car already so I decided to grab my camera and see what I could do around the airport hotel where we were staying. The light and colors were fantastic so I had a lot of fun walking around the parking lot looking for interesting compositions.
I’ve also been obsessed with symmetry lately and have done a lot of experiments digitally and with Polaroid photos to create artificial, almost surreal symmetrical images. This is the approach I took for this set of photos and I love the way they turned out.
