I bought a Fujifilm camera last year because I was looking for a lightweight, simple camera I could take with me anywhere I go. I also loved the idea of their film simulations that give a more “finished” photo right out of the camera without the need for much post-processing.
After a few months of use, this has become my favorite camera. It’s not the best one that I own, but it removes the barriers for being creative. I have particularly fallen in love with shooting black and white with this camera, something I haven not done much of in the past. A lot of my personal work involves vivid landscape scenes. I LOVE color and I’ve been told I push it too much sometimes, but I don’t care… So while I do love the black and white photos I have been shooting, I’ve wanted to experiment with re-introducing color in some way.
I chose to try digital painting with an iPad using Procreate and have really grown to love the process. There has been no plan for creating these images, it has been pure experimentation and trusting my gut. I’m not sure if they will resonate with anyone, but they have been a blast to create. I’ll share more of them overtime. Thanks for reading!
Interesting. Some times I handle all Lightroom colour controls and channels ending often in a rather psychedelic thing that, like you, I enjoy despite preconceptions
